Boy Scouts of America has initiated a national brand identity program that is to be used by every region, council, district, troop, post, crew, pack, etc. in the country. For years there have been hundreds of different logos, typefaces and looks in publications, on websites, etc. Now there is going to be one BSA unified brand look that is universal.

Prepared. For Life.™ is the new theme of the BSA.  It embodies the fun experiences and life lessons that only Scouting provides. Most important, it conveys the confidence, dedication, and passion each Scout discovers to lead a successful life.  It is to be used whenever possible on all publications and materials that any professional or volunteer in scouting creates.

One Message . Last year the Boy Scouts of America initiated a national brand identity program that is to be used by every region, council, district, troop, post, crew, pack, etc. in the country. For years there have been hundreds of different logos, typefaces and looks in publications, on websites, etc. Now there is one BSA unified brand look that is universal.  Guidelines for the brand identity program have been modified somewhat to incorporate the new Prepared For Life theme.  Another key change is the Boy Scout logo, now with Boy Scouts of America on top and the council name below.

The Patriots’ Path Council has developed a new version of its own PPBSA Branding/Publications Guide that governs all publications developed and implemented within the council. Its purpose is to achieve consistency in all Patriots’ Path Council publications in adherence with national BSA standards. All Patriots’ Path Council personnel, both staff and volunteer should use the guide in developing and revising all communications.

In addition to the revised version of the Branding/Publications Guide, a new BSA Publicity Handbook  has been created with clear guidance as to how to develop a strong PR strategy for your unit.  Copies of both are available below along with updated logos, commercials, Power Point templates, etc.

In addition, a new Patriots’ Path Council Communications Plan has been developed with clear procedures for how to submit articles, announcements or posts to the Council E-Newsletter, the Pathfinder, the Alumni Newsletter, the council Facebook page or our Cub Scout Parent Blog.

The PPBSA Branding/Publications Guide can be downloaded below as well as downloads of logos, stationery templates, etc.

The National Website also has a great resource for Marketing materials at http://scouting.org/marketing
